The Department of
Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites you to
explore the program leading to B.S. degree in Electrical
Engineering program at Texas A&M University – Kingsville (TAMUK).
Electrical
Engineering (EE) is one of the fastest growing disciplines in
science and engineering disciplines. Modern electrical
engineering has shown strong combination of traditional
electrical engineering with computer engineering in both
computer hardware and software, resulting in many positions
opening to electrical engineers. Electrical engineering
graduates usually command higher starting salaries. Some of the
more common of these are: artificial intelligence, communication
engineers, computer engineers, computer vision, control
engineers, power engineers, instrumentation engineers, and
robotics.
The objectives of
the undergraduate EE program are :
To prepare our graduates for
careers as engineering professionals and/or for graduate
studies.
To enable our graduates to
pursue state-of-the-art solutions to engineering problems and to
evaluate and embrace new technologies
To instill in our graduates
personal commitment to high ethical standards, sound business
decisions, and engineering excellence.
The undergraduate Electrical Engineering program offers two
degree emphasis areas: "electrical systems" and "computer
engineering". The electrical systems option emphasizes theory
and design of hardware aspects of electrical systems in
communications, controls and computers. The Computer Engineering
option includes the hardware aspects of computer design and
emphasizes software engineering. |
