9. Proposed an equipment transfer request to the Department of Industrial Engineering at Texas Tech University. They have orally agreed to transfer two Nokia manufacturing and assembly lines to TAMUK. The equipment is valuable to automation and manufacturing process teaching and research.

· Visited DIA and CCP companies in Austin, Texas on Aug. 11, 2004 and discussed research collaboration with company managers and professor from Texas Tech University.
· Visited Image MicroSystems in Austin, Texas on Oct. 28 to 29, 2004. Attended a seminar on E-Waste. Researchers and managers from MicroImage and Dell computer, and professors from Texas Tech University (TTU) and UT Pan American attended the seminar. I discussed the collaboration with TTU, UTPA, Image MicroSystems, and DELL, and got their supports on my future research and proposal submission.
· Nominated for the President’s Excellence Jr. Faculty Research Award.
· Visited MicroImage in Aug. 2003 and attended a seminar on computer and cell phone end-of-life treatment. Researchers and managers from MicroImage and Dell computer, and professor from Texas Tech University (TTU) attended the seminar. I discussed the collaboration with TTU, MicroImage, and DELL, and got their supports on my ATP proposal.
