Industrial Experience

Dr. Elkassabgi acted as the Director and founder of the Industrial Assessment Center IAC, (formerly the Energy Analysis and Diagnostic Center, EADC) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville from 1993-1998. The Industrial Assessment Center at Texas A&M University-Kingsville was established in October 1993 by a contract with the United States Department of Energy. The center conducted energy audit, waste minimization studies, and productivity studies for 105 industrial plants in the areas of San Antonio, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Brownsville, Victoria, Laredo, and smaller cities in south Texas.

I acted as a reviewer for the United States Energy Department (DOE) for the NICE programs (a competitive programs for energy conservation sponsored by the USA DOE). Dr. Elkassabgi conducted workshops on energy conservation to most State of Texas Utility Companies (Central Power and Light, Houston Light and Power, Texas utilities for Dallas and Fort Worth area, City Service of San Antonio, Austin Utility). He also conducted energy conservation workshops in the State of Qatar, Bahrain, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the Middle East. Dr. Elkassabgi is a registered Professional Engineer with the State of Texas.
