Registration

Registered Professional Engineer in Texas (Texas RPE No. 71170)

Professional Experience:

  • The former director and founder of the Industrial Assessment Center IAC (1993-1998) (formerly the Energy Analysis and Diagnostic Center, EADC) at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. The Industrial Assessment Center at Texas A&M University-Kingsville was established in October 1993 by a contract with the United States Department of Energy. The center conducted energy audits, waste minimization studies, and productivity studies for 105 industrial plants in the areas of San Antonio, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Brownsville, Victoria, Laredo, and smaller cities in south Texas.

  • NAVY SUMMER FACULTY RESEARCH PROGRAM: Summers 2002, 2003, and 2004: Worked on the management of thermal loads for ships, electronic switching semiconductors, induction motors, and the development of boundary layer thickness in experimental wind tunnels to simulate air flow over ocean waters.

  • OAK RIDGE NATIONAL LABORATORY SUMMER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM: Summers of (10 weeks) - 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2008, and 2009: worked on thermal hydraulics analysis of the refueling process for the Advanced Neutron Source Reactor (ANSR), investigation of thermodynamic Rankine cycles for nuclear reactors of space ship use, thermal analysis of the behavior of molten salt to be adapted as a working fluid for cooling of the new AHTR Nuclear Reactors.

  • Conducted workshops on energy conservation to most of the utility companies in the State of Texas funded by the State of Texas Energy office. These utility companies included Central Power and Light, Houston Light and Power, Texas utilities for Dallas and Fort Worth area, City Service of San Antonio, Austin Utility.

  • Conducted energy conservation workshops and energy audits in several countries in the Middle East. These studies were conducted in the State of Qatar (December 1997 and 1998), Bahrain (December 1998), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (December 2000 and 2001), and Sultanate of Oman (December 2005). All were funded by the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consultancy.
